Aulton passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Nov. 6, 2013, after a brave battle with cancer.
Aulton was born in Richmond, Calif., on Oct. 16, 1947, the youngest of four children to Evurd and Frances Carlock. He graduated from John Swett High School in 1965 and served proudly in the U.S. Air Force 1966-1970. He married his sweetheart, Jean, in November 1974. They lived in Richmond and Rodeo before settling in Suisun City to raise their three sons. He worked at C&H Sugar in Crockett for 37 years before retiring in 2011.
Aulton enjoyed fishing, camping, music, wine tasting and traveling with his wife and friends. He was a San Francisco Giants fan and an ardent Oakland Raiders fan. His greatest pride and joy, though, was his family. He was a very proud Grandpa of his six amazing grandchildren. He was the most kind and patient man you would ever meet, a true friend to all. He was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Aulton is survived by his loving wife, Jean; sons, Christopher and wife Melissa of Santa Cruz, Aaron and wife Sarah of Texas, Matthew and wife Marina of Elk Grove; his six grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, Henry, Cameron, Gus and Amelia; his sisters, Linda Peters (Francis) and Carolyn Sanford (Orvil); sister-in-law, Carol Carlock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evurd and Francis Carlock; brother, Weldon Carlock; and sister-in-law Susan Park.
The family would like to thank all the kind and caring nurses, doctors and personnel at Kaisers Vallejo and Vacaville; Kaiser Home Health, most especially Nancy and Sherry; NorthBay Cancer Center Radiation Oncology; and Asera Care Hospice.
A military honors service for Aulton will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, Calif.
A celebration of his life gathering will follow.
