Warrant: Man did Web search on kids dying in cars

By
From page A9 | June 29, 2014 |

ATLANTA — The father of a Georgia toddler who died in a hot SUV told authorities that he did an online search about children dying in vehicles because he was afraid it could happen.

Justin Ross Harris faces charges of murder and second-degree child cruelty in 22-month-old Cooper Harris’ death.

Search warrants released Saturday by Cobb County Police Department say Harris told police that he researched what temperature can cause a child’s death in a car.

The warrants say police were looking for a laptop, electronic devices and evidence of child neglect or abuse at the family’s Marietta home. Harris’ phone and car were included.

Harris has told police he was supposed to drive his son to daycare but drove to work on June 18, forgetting the boy was in the car.

When I wrote my book I included information I had researched on this subject. The number of children "forgotten" in cars and dying is horribly common. This is mind boggling and in my view unbelievable. If this guy did enough research to know this and deliberately killed that child his heinous act should be rewarded with a painful death. For the record, you folks that love to take your pets along during the heat of summer and leave them in the car? Sit there yourself for fifteen minutes and see how you like it! OH! And don't forget to "crack the windows a little!"

Matt, thanks for the Mr. Wonderful recognition. Every day I wake up and sit down at this machine. The first thing I think about is who can I piss off today? Congratulations. BTW, do you have a specific argument on any particular subject other than my just being here you'd like to make? I've been here a long time, not going anywhere...

Matt, this is a discussion board, we discuss. Maybe I discuss more than you'd care for? Don't read my stuff. Generally, I have something positive to offer unless I'm given grief, then I respond accordingly. I didn't put myself on a pedestal, you did.

This reminds me of the Kaycee Anthony case. She also researched things that were questionable. The saddest thing was that she wasn't held accountable for her daughter's death. What a sad, sad situation. I'll be praying for the family and, especially, the baby.

The boy has Blond hair. I keep missing the wife's hait color but glances tell me black also. Check DNA, compare father and mother, and friends of father (Blond mostly) and you've got the reason. Welcome to my world.
