If gun control were the answer to what is basically a societal and parental problem, then why are there such high gun crime rates in States and Cities with the most restrictive gun laws? Chicago and Detroit along with Oakland (Barackistan) come to mind. And those places with CCW permits? They have lower crime rates! This business of government demanding more money and power to "solve" problems is a proven FAILURE. Look at welfare! It is the cause of most of these problems and has not lowered the poverty rate. Instead, it has wreaked horrible economic and societal damage as millions see government crumbs as a way of life. Reagan said it best---"Government Socialists can provide you with a roof over your head along with beans and bacon to eat and medical treatment if you're ill---All those things guaranteed to a SLAVE or a PRISONER."

Is there a win here for anybody, really? There come a time when the futility and waste of resources becomes a liability. I think we may have arrived at that place with gun control. And of course, that would be true with marijuana and prostitution but those are arguments for another day. The degree of any crime committed is directly related to the perpetrator’s desire and resolve. The sad and simple truth is, we cannot stop the most determined among them. I've been reading about those states with strong gun control laws and they have the highest crime rates involving guns! I’m not a gun advocate but I’m also not in favor of a civilian’s inability to defend his or her self. I fear road rage as the most egregious deterrent to a right to carry law. Other than that, I have not yet seen or heard a legitimate argument that denies all American the right to bear arms. I have begun to believe the answer is legalizing guns properly registered, with professional testing, licensing and an ongoing certification process. Anyone carrying a firearm with anything less than those standards should be arrested and processed through legal channels. Will we have Dodge City? I don’t know but if trouble starts, the perpetrator(s) might understand the potential and immediate consequences. You’d think that alone might slow down criminal activity somewhat?
