UNION CITY — A Northern California high school teacher reported missing earlier in the week has been found dead.
San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies said Friday that a search and rescue team found Chris Ryan, 54, of Redwood City at the bottom of a ravine near Interstate 280. The San Jose Mercury News reported that his family had reported the James Logan High School English teacher missing on Tuesday.
Investigators said a cause of death will be announced after an autopsy. Grief counselors were made available at the school, which was celebrating its homecoming.
