California couple returns bag with $11K in cash

VALLEJO— What would you do if you found a camera bag with more than $11,000 in cash?

That’s the dilemma Barbara and Carlos Landeros faced during a Valentine’s Day trip to the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Vallejo couple found the bag at a vista point north of the bridge. It contained an envelope filled with $100 bills, several credit cards, a camera and lens and a wallet with Chinese currency but no photo ID.

The Vallejo Times-Herald reports the couple waited an hour and a half for the owner to return before they dropped off the bag at the San Francisco police department. Officers tracked down the owner using airline ticket information inside the bag.

The owner rented a van and drove to the Landeros’ home to thank them.

I'm assuming the police received permission from the Landero's to give out their address, or they spoke with the tourist? Whichever way it happened, I think it's awesome that the tourist went out of his or her way to thank the Landeros.The fact that the Landeros' turned the bag and money in to the police proves a number of things. Number one they believe Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I believe they put themselves in the tourists shoes,and did what they would want someone to do for them. 11k is a LOT of money to find, as well as to lose.I believe the universe will reward the Landeros,somehow,someway,someday,and they've already been rewarded with a Thank You in person from the tourist. Such a heart warming story. Thank you!
