VALLEJO — Camron Starr accounted for 21 points to power the Vanden High junior varsity football team to a 27-0 Solano County Athletic Conference victory at Corbus Field, Saturday.
Starr had scoring runs of 50, 75 and 40 yards and also had a two-point conversion run and kicked a point-after touchdown.
The other points for the Vikings (4-4, 3-0 SCAC) came on a 10-yard fumble return by Josiah Taylor late in the fourth quarter.
Vanden coach Chris Frederick praised his defense for its “pressure up the middle. Vallejo couldn’t establish their inside running game and we had shutdown corners to defend their passing scheme,” he said.
David Quinonez led with two sacks and Isaac Villegas recorded a sack on his first play of the season.
Vanden hosts Benicia next week and can clinch a tie for the SCAC title with the victory.
