LE GRAND — The 13th-seeded Vacaville Christian High volleyball team’s run through the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V playoffs came to halt with a 3-1 loss to No. 8 Le Grand in Tuesday’s semfinals.

The Falcons (20-9) got off to a slow start and briefly righted the ship in the third game before before falling 25-17, 25-16, 17-25, 25-20.

“Tthe first two games we had a lot of uncharacteristic errors we haven’t seen all year,” Vacaville Christian coach Steve Jacobs said. “That put us down two games. The third game we played like our normal team and did really well.”

Alicia Borges had 23 assists and seven kills for the Falcons, while Casi Diaz had 14 kills, Haley Kenyon nine kills and six blocks and Lauren Gottschall six kills.

“I’m just blessed to have such a great team, great attitude, great spirt,” Jacobs said. “We’ve got a good foundation for the future.”

The Falcons had impressive road wins over No. 4 Big Valley Christian and No. 12 Forest Lake Christian before Tueday’s loss.

“I’m  quite happy,” Jacobs said. “We had a great season. I would’ve liked to have won, but that’s OK.”
