FAIRFIELD — After you’ve opened the presents there will be plenty of boys basketball to unwrap later this week as both Rodriguez and Fairfield host three-day tournaments.
For the Mustangs it’s the inaugural RHS Holiday Stampede. They open against the Lobos of Elsie Allen on Thursday with the event running through Saturday.
The Falcons bring back the Fairfield Holiday Classic after a one-year hiatus because of the threat of the Fairfield-Suisun School District dropping high school sports in 2012.
The Falcons open against West of Tracy with games continuing Saturday and Monday.

The Fairfield girls basketball team celebrates Christmas Eve by playing at Livermore.
The Fairfield girls return from Christmas by playing in the Cupertino Classic.
A bit closer to home, the Armijo girls take part in the Ram Jam at Dixon.
In its first action since the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona, Vanden opens the West Coast Jamboree against Brea-Olinda in the Diamond Division at Deer Valley High of Antioch.
Vanden’s wrestling team competes in the No Guts, No Glory tournament at Natomas of Sacramento.
The Solano Community College women’s basketball team plays in the Mike Gervasoni Memorial Classic at De Anza College of Cupertino. The tourney runs through Monday.
Rodriguez’s wrestlng team competes in the 5-Way Duals at Chico.
Meanwhile, Vanden’s girls wrestlers participate in the Julie Gonzalez tournament in Vallejo, while the Rodriguez girls are in a tournament at Natomas.
