FAIRFIELD — Playoffs begin for four city high school boys tennis and girls soccer teams this week, though only one opens at home.

The Monticello Empire League champion Armijo boys tennis team hosts either San Joaquin Athletic Association runner-up Lodi or Sierra Foothill League third-place finisher Rocklin in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I tournament on Tuesday.

Also in boys tennis on Tuesday, Vanden, the Solano County Athletic Conference runner-up, plays at Tri-County Conference champ Pioneer of Woodland in SJS Division II play.

Armijo’s girls soccer team, the third-place finisher in the MEL and seeded 13th in the SJS Division I playoffs, plays at Delta River League runner-up and fourth-seeded St. Francis of Sacramento.

On Thursday, SCAC runner-up Vanden, seeded No. 6 in Division III, plays at No. 3 Manteca, the Valley Oak League third-place finisher.

Here’s how the rest of the week shapes up:

The final week of the regular season for softball has Vanden looking to nail down the SCAC’s No. 2 playoff seeding with a win over visiting Benicia, while Fairfield entertains American Canyon.

Rancho Solano Golf Course is the site of the SJS Division I North boys tournament, while the D-II tourney is at Sacramento’s Wildhawk Golf Course.

The final week of the regular season in baseball has Rodriguez looking to close in on its eighth straight playoff berth when it hosts Rodriguez, while Vanden can sew up the SCAC’s No. 2 playoff spot when it plays at Fairfield.

In badminton Armijo is at Napa.

The Rodriguez badminton team can wrap up an unbeaten regular season when it travels to Armijo.

The baseball regular season concludes with Rodriguez at Armijo and Fairfield at Vanden.

The Rodriguez softball team may need a win in its regular season finale with Armijo at Laurel Creek Park to make the playoffs. The day’s other game has Vanden at Fairfield.

In track and field, Vacaville is at Armijo and Rodriguez at Wood.

The Sac-Joaquin Section boys tennis individual tournaments for Divisions I and II are at Johnson Racquet Club, Roseville. The tourneys conclude on Friday.

The Sac-Joaquin Section diving championships begin with girls trials at Johansen High of Modesto. Boys trials are on Friday with finals on Saturday at McClatchy High of Sacramento.

The Solano softball team hosts a three-day super regional with the winner advancing to the state championships in Bakersfield. Also in the super regional are Sierra of Rocklin, San Joaquin Delta of Stockton and Santa Rosa.
