The Week Ahead: Expos host Area 1 tourney at Laurel Creek

FAIRFIELD — Just back from their second Oregon trip of the summer, the Fairfield Expos American Legion baseball team is set to host the Area 1 tournament at Laurel Creek.

The event runs Wednesday through Sunday with a berth in the upcoming state tournament at Yountville at stake.

Here’s a look at a busy last full week of July:

Tuesday

The collegiate baseball Solano Mudcats host the South Bay Storm at Will C. Wood High.

Wednesday

Play begins in the Area 1 tournament.

Thursday

Several teams from Fairfield-Suisun Bobby Sox are expected to participate in the National Tournament of Champions in Huntington Beach. The event runs through Monday.

In a clash of city collegiate baseball teams, the Fairfield Indians host the Mudcats at Allan Witt Park.

Friday

The Mudcats take on Top Speed Baseball at Albert Park in San Rafael.

Saturday

The Indians host the Sacramento Rural League tournamnent, which runs through Sunday at Allan Witt Park.

Hitting the road once again, the Mudcats play the Healdsburg Prune Packers at Healdsburg’s Recreation Park.

Sunday

Returning home to finish the week, the Mudcats entertain Pro Player Baseball in a doubleheader at Will C. Wood.
