Win in 9th gives Expos 8-7 victory, league championship

FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Expos American Legion baseball team pushed across a run in the bottom of the ninth inning for an 8-7 win over Santa Rosa Connie Mack at Laurel Creek Park, Monday.

The win gave the Expos (33-14) a 14-3 record in league play, earning them the championship.

Jo Jo Quintanilla, Garlind Webster and Carter Bins each had two hits for the Expos, with Bins driving in two runs, Webster and Quintanilla one each.

Cameron Michael was only 1 for 4 on the day but his hit was a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth that put the Expos up 6-4.

Justin Lee picked up the win, pitching just the ninth inning. He walked two batters but also struck out two while not allowing a run.
