Nationals bounce Bennett Valley 12-0

SANTA ROSA — Derik Geringer, Davey Duncan and Dominick Browning-Neville each had three hits and Michael Silva pitched five scoreless innings to lead the Solano Nationals wood bat baseball team to a 12-0 thumping of the Bennett Valley Bulldogs to complete round-robin play in the Wood Bat Classic on Saturday.

Geringer and Duncan each ripped triples and scored three runs, while Browning-Neville and Duncan each had four RBIs.

Silva struck out four with no walks, starting 15 of the 18 batters he faced with strikes and needing just 48 pitches to get the job done in a game cut short by the run rule.

“Silva’s performance was outstanding” Nationals manager C.J. Olsen said. “First-pitch strikes and locating pitches at their hitters’ knees was the key. When Mike locates like he did today, he’s going to get lots of ground balls and keep the defense on their toes.”
