SANTA BARBARA — The Solano Community College women’s basketball team had four players score in double figures Saturday as the Falcons won the consolation final of the Santa Barbara Tournament with a 71-60 victory over Grossmont.

Ariel Clay led Solano (2-1) with 16 points, while Kristina Kountouris had 14, Lucy Santos 11 and Alexcia Jennings 10.

Taylor Hamilton scored nine points for the Falcons and was the team’s lone selection to the all-tournament squad.

“The first game we had a lot of turnovers (in a loss), but we were in it,” SCC coach Matt Borchert said. “. . . The last two days, we stayed aggressive and played hard, got more comfortable and executed better. As the weekend went on, people stepped up and got more comfortable.”

The Falcons play Santa Barbara Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. to open the Tom Gilcrest Invitational in Visalia.
