ROCKVILLE — The Solano Community College soccer team came away with a moral victory, Friday, playing a tough Modesto team to a 1-1 draw.
Modesto took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the Falcons’ Harmonie Carranza scored the equalizer in about the 60th minute.
Then came the play of the game, according to coach Jeff Cardinal, as goalie Danelle Hendershot made a key save to preserve the tie.
“She made a game-saver with two minutes left, a big time save,” Cardinal said. “That was a big one. She didn’t have a lot of saves. She had about four for the game. But that was a big one.”
Solano (1-3-2) opens Bay Valley Conference play at Contra Costa, Tuesday.
