OAKLAND — The Solano Community College baseball team pounded out 13 hits on its way to a 15-4 Bay Valley Conference victory over Laney College, Saturday.
The Falcons (7-5, 1-1 BVC) erupted early, scoring five times in the first inning, three times in the second and six more times in the third to put the game away.
Anthony Pezzola picked up the win on the mound, striking out eight over six innings of work.
David Fernandez finished the game 2 for 5 with two RBIs, Nick Spini was 2 for 5, knocking in three runs, and Tucker Bishop was 2 for 6 with a pair of RBIs.
The Falcons are back in action Tuesday at home against Contra Costa College.
Fairfield scores 2 in 7th to top Antioch
ANTIOCH — The Fairfield High baseball team scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to pick up a 5-4 nonleague win over Antioch, Saturday.
Jason Paukei got the win in relief, striking out five in three innings, and also went 1 for 3 at the plate with an RBI.
Mikey Brown finished the game 2 for 3 with a double.
The Falcons open Solano County Athletic Conference play Thursday at American Canyon.
