Rio Vista falls at home to Golden Sierra
RIO VISTA — The Rio Vista High football team had its drive stopped on fourth-and-5 with less than two minutes to play at Golden Sierra’s 30-yard line in a 21-20 Sierra Delta League loss, Friday night.
Chace Marlowe finished with 151 yards rushing for the Rams (7-2) with a TD. He also caught a scoring pass from QB Ryan Mackey. Bryan Peters had 125 yards rushing and a TD for Rio Vista.
The Rams are off next week before playing Vacaville Christian in two weeks.
Vintage JV 34, Armijo 6: At Memorial Stadium, Napa, the Indians (2-6, 0-3 MEL) could only manage a 20-yard TD pass from Tommy Weisz to Elisha Toney in the opening half.
“It was just miscues and more miscues in the second the half,” Armijo coach Galen Lawton said. “We played a good half. We didn’t play a good second half. We could have been ahead the first half.”
The Indians play at Napa next Friday.
Wood JV 35, Rodriguez 7: At Rodriguez, the Mustangs tacked on a late touchdown in its third-straight loss in Monticello Empire League play.
Rontavious Williams hauled in a 15-yard pass from Bryan Cortez for Rodriguez’s lone score. With the loss, the Mustangs fall to 0-3 in the MEL and 3-5 overall.
