Prep softball: Bomar’s homer powers Armijo past Vintage

NAPA — Kelsey Bomar broke a 3-3 tie with a three-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to help give the Armijo High softball team a 6-3 Monticello Empire League win over Vintage, Monday.

The Indians (5-2, 1-1 MEL) had tied the game at 3 with three runs in the top of the sixth.

Bomar finished the game 2 for 4 with the homer and five RBIs, while Celsa Faulstitch finished the game 3 for 4. Destiny Blueford and Vanessa Penella each finished with two hits for the Indians.

Blueford ended up with the win for Armijo, pitching a complete game, allowing six hits against just one earned run.
