FAIRFIELD — The Armijo High girls tennis team stayed unbeaten on the season with a 9-0 blanking of Vacaville on Monday.
The Indians (5-0, 5-0 MEL) didn’t lose more than three games in any set save for No. 1 singles where Lenora Quinonez outdueled Julia DePonte 6-4, 2-6, 10-7.
Reagan Corley cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 for Armijo.
“What a total team effort today,” Indians coach Greg Davis said. “Simply overwhelming play from everyone. (The) girls are starting to find their confidence and form.”
The Indians are at Vintage on Wednesday, while Vacaville hosts Napa.
Napa 7, Wood 2: At Vacaville, the Indians (5-4, 2-3 MEL) dropped just one match in both singles and doubles. Jaime Hill rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles for Napa.
Wood’s victories came at No. 5 singles, where Berlin Mendoza outlasted Saehej Bawa 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, at at No. 1 doubles, where Kelsey Mifflin and Belle Lunisa rallied to edge Natalie Freifeld and Makayla Brasel, 2-6, 7-6, 11-9.
