VACAVILLE — The Armijo High girls tennis team remained unbeaten in the season after a 9-0 Monticello Empire League victory over Wood, Monday.
The Indians (9-0, 9-0 MEL) didn’t drop a single set, with No. 1 singles player Lenora Quionez winning 6-0, 6-2, and No. 3 singles player Linh Nguyen winning 6-1, 6-0.
“The girls continue to play strong and efficient tennis,” Armijo coach Greg Davis said. “(There’s still) work still to be done, but our singles is starting to take off. Doubles is very aggressive and forcing.”
Rodriguez 5, Napa 4: At Fairfield, the Mustangs picked up a win over the Indians, taking three singles matches and two doubles matches.
Corinee Tsai, Marisa Mark and Hannah Lee won in singles play while the doubles teams of Nicole Neal/Natelie Neal and Katie Ziser/Michaela Quillizo won their doubles matches.
The Mustangs host Vintage, Wednesday.
