NAPA — The Monticello Empire League champion Armijo High girls tennis team swept the singles to stay unbeaten on the season but had three matches go three sets in a 7-2 victory over Napa, Monday.
“The team was challenged today by a very good Napa squad, and quite frankly, we needed that,” Armijo coach Greg Davis said. “I’m happy with the way the girls responded to the pressure and fight.”
Winning for Armijo were Lenora Quinonez, Regan Corley, Kathleen Boholst, Linh Nguyen, Tiffini Mestas and Jasmine Yasir in singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Jaimi Garlington and Stephanie Weber.
Armijo (13-0, 13-0 MEL) hosts Wood on Wednesday.
