Prep girls basketball: Vanden falls on road to state power Clovis West

FRESNO — The Vanden High girls basketball team was outscored 38-25 over the second and third quarters and never recovered in dropping a 66-49 decision to state power Clovis West of Fresno, Saturday.

Julia Blackshell-Fair led the Vikings (10-3) with 17 points, while Kayla Blair had eight and Aleseana Whitney and Brittany Kirbyson each added six.

Vanden returns to action at Napa, Wednesday.
