RIO VISTA — With the postseason out of the picture, the Vacaville Christian High boys soccer team shook up its lineup in a 7-0 loss to playoff-bound Rio Vista, Thursday.
The Rams (8-3-2, 6-3-2) scored five goals in the first half and two in the second.
John Siegal, who normally plays the field, was in goal the first half, making three saves.
Usual starting goalkeeper Stephen Gloudeman started at midfield and played in goal the second half, recording 15 saves.
According to Falcons coach Paolo Mikelionis, his team earned a school-record offsides calls on defense, 10 in the second half.
Mikelionis added that Vacaville Christian (4-7-3, 2-6-3) was missing six players because of injuries and had no subs. Outside fullback Samuel Ouyang suffered a wrist injury in the 17th when the match was still scoreless.
The Falcons had to go with 10 players most of the rest of the way. They close out the season at Bradshaw Christian on Tuesday.
