FAIRFIELD — Fans of the four city high school basketball teams still alive in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs will have to leave work early to see them play next.

Pairings for the SJS semifinals were announced Saturday morning and all four play in late afternoon or early evening games in Sacramento.

The Vanden girls (23-5), the top seeds in Division III, play No. 4 Florin of Sacramento (19-9) at Cosumnes River College of Sacramento at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The winner advances to play No. 2 Modesto Christian (21-8) or No. 3 Patterson (25-4) at Sleep Train Arena on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Right after Tuesday’s girls game, the second-seeded Vanden boys (19-10) take on crosstown rival Fairfield (25-5), the No. 3 seed, at CRC at 5:30 p.m. The Vikings won the first two meetings in Solano County Athletic Conference play.

The survivor goes on to meet either top-seeded Modesto Christian (20-8) or No. 4 Christian Brothers of Sacramento (20-9) at Sleep Train on Friday at 9 p.m.

A pair of five-point victories in the first two rounds have advanced the Rodriguez boys (25-2), seeded second in Division I, to the semifinals against No. 6 Merced (23-6) at Sleep Train on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The victor goes to the championship game against either No. 1 Jesuit of Carmichael (26-3) or fifth-seeded Kennedy of Sacramento (21-8) at Sleep Train at 8:30 p.m., Saturday.
