AMERICAN CANYON — The Vanden High baseball team had a five-run sixth inning and cruised to a 10-1 win over American Canyon, Tuesday.
Rylan Haney pitched a complete game to get the win for the Vikings (5-2), only allowing three hits with six strikeouts.
Eno Evans and and Lara Alejandro were both perfect for the plate as Evans was 3 for 3 with a double and two triples with four RBIs, while Alejandro was 4 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs.
Vanden had 16 hits and committed no errors.
The Vikings host Bethel, Thursday.
Will C. Wood 1, Armijo 0: At Vacaville, the Wildcats (4-3) got the only run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning as Merrick Judson singled in Cody Marshall, who barely beat Kyle Elledge’s throw to the plate from right field. Judson finished up 2 for 4 at the plate.
Chris Parodi pitched six shutout innings for Armijo, giving up three hits and four walks while striking out four. Parodi, Elledge, Jacob Borunda and Antonio Ramirez had hits for the Indians.
Nick Roach threw five solid innings for the Wildcats, allowing two hits and striking out three.
Tyler Pearsall got the win as he pitched two innings allowing only one hit.
Napa 9, Rodriguez 0: At Napa, the game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Mustangs (1-6) surrendered seven runs.
The losing pitcher for Rodriguez was Cory Peacock, who threw 4 1-3 innings, allowing seven runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks, striking out three.
Matthew Lanza had the only extra-base hit for the Mustangs,hitting a double. Davy Rasmusson, J.P. San Antonio and Richie Straub had the only other hits for Rodriguez.
The Mustangs host Vintage, Thursday.
Vanden JV 14, American Canyon JV 2: At American Canyon, Tyler Miller led the Vikings (4-2, 2-0 SCAC) as he went 5 1-3 innings, allowing one hit and one run with six strikeouts.
Hidhari Wadley had a big game at the plate as he was 2 for 3 with two triples and four RBIs, while Julian Bactad was 3 for 3 with an RBI.
Vanden had 19 total hits, only allowing the Wolves three hits.
The Vikings are at home against Bethel, Thursday.
