WEST SACRAMENTO — The Vanden High baseball team enjoyed its trip to Raley Field, home of the Pacific Coast League’s Sacramento River Cats, so much it scored 10 runs in an inning — twice.

The Vikings, who banged out 20 hits, plated 10 runs in both the third and sixth innings in cruising to a 26-10 nonleague win over Center of Antelope, Saturday night.

Pablo Delgado Rodriguez led the Vikings (14-4) by going 3 for 5 with a double, three runs and four RBIs, while Alejandro Lara was 2 for 4 with three runs and five RBIs and Rylan Henry was 2 for 2 with four RBIs.

Others with multiple hits or RBIs were Eno Evans (2 for 5, RBI), Eric Robles (2 for 3, three runs) and Robert Hutting (1 for 1, two RBIs, two sacrifice flies). Ralph Pitts and D’Angelo Evans ripped doubles.

Jake LaGrand, the last of seven pitchers for Vanden, went the final 1 2-3 innings to get the win, allowing one hit while striking out two and walking one.

The Vikings return to Solano County Athletic Conference action on Tuesday when they travel to Bethel.
