Prep badminton: Rodriguez, Armijo roll to 13-2 victories

FAIRFIELD — The Rodriguez High badminton team had two doubles teams rally for three-set victories as part of a 13-2 win over Davis that kept the Mustangs unbeaten, Friday.

Kristine Paeste and Marika Ongpauco prevailed 13-21, 21-18, 21-12 at No. 2, while Angelica Dagcuta and Kayla Chao won 12-21, 21-18, 21-13 at No. 7

Winning in singles for Rodriguez (20-0, 14-0 Monticello Empire League) Paeste, Dagcuta, Raiza Balancio, Bianca Cortez, Mikaela Peralta and Janelle Sandhu.

Also victorious in doubles were Balancio and Cortez at No. 1, Sandhu and Lei Paeste at No. 3, Peralta and Vonne Rocha at No. 4 and Vanessa Vega and Nicole Vu at No. 6.

The Mustangs host Vacaville, Wednesday.

Armijo 13, Vintage 2: At Napa, the Indians (13-3, 12-2) dropped one match in both singles and doubles.

Armijo’s double winners were Noni Guevara, Akena Reyes, Ysabella Balomadres and Angelica Roxas

Also winning in singles was Serenity Liew, Anna Cardoso and Stephanie Weber, while other doubles victors were Donna Tran, Geraldine Tiongson, Chelsea Oey, Raiven Mesa, Cathy Yang, Symphony Yang, Natalie Reyes, Sangchanh, Lisette Gil and Andriana Rodriguez.

The Indians are at Davis, Monday.
