FAIRFIELD — Kyle Williams’s 14 points led a balanced attack for the Rodriguez High boys basketball team in a 77-49 nonleague victory over Excel Academy of Stockton that was marred by the collapse of a referee at halftime on Monday.

According to Mustangs coach Nate Rankin, the official was given CPR and was taken from the school’s gym by ambulance. Rankin had no further word on his condition.

Derrick Harris added 11 points for Rodriguez (2-2), while Tim Moore and DeShaun Hall each had 10.

The Mustangs play at crosstown rival Fairfield today at 7:30 p.m.
