Negron endures tough week with Reds

By From page B1 | August 16, 2014

Kris Negron got his first major league triple on Wednesday for the Cincinnati Reds against the Boston Red Sox, but it was one of the few highlights in a very forgettable week for the Vanden High graduate.

A first-inning single earlier in the game was his only other hit of the week as he batted .111 (2 for 18) to see his average drop from a high of .302 on Aug. 7 to .246 after Thursday’s game with Colorado.

Negron has three home runs and nine RBIs in 21 games with Cincinnati this season after getting into only four games in his previous stint with the Reds in 2012.
