Mudcats sweep doubleheader against Spikes

ROCKLIN — The Solano Mudcats sweep the Sacramento Spikes, Saturday, 8-7 in the first game and 5-2 in the second.

Brenden Farney brought in Joe Murray – the go-ahead run – with his double in the eighth inning of game No. 1, giving the Solano Mudcats the victory.

Farney ended the day with three RBIs and two hits for the Mudcats, while Murray was 2 for 4, plating one run and scoring three. Connor McCoy got the win for the Mudcats, allowing one run on one hit, striking out four.

In the second game, Nick Perez brought in Murray for the go-ahead run in the sixth inning. Murray singled and moved into scoring position on a single from Dylan Montano.

AJ Quintero’s threw 10 strikeouts in six innings of work, allowing one run on six hits.

The Mudcats face the San Leandro Ports in a doubleheader, Sunday, at WIll C. Wood, beginning at 10 a.m.
