Mudcats get 15-7 win in Auburn Classic

AUBURN — The Solano Mudcats collegiate baseball team scored six runs in the ninth inning to put away the California Glory 15-7 in the Auburn Classic, Thursday.

Donnie Gardiner got the win for the Mudcats, allowing two runs in six innings while striking out five.

Nick Spini and Mark Foley provided the punch in the final innings, Spini connecting for a two-run double and Foley smashing a three-run homer.

Hudson Bishop added an RBI double in the second innings, with Tucker Bishop collecting an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the same frame. Gordie Clary had an RBI double in the third inning.

Solano faces the Auburn Wildcats at 9 a.m., Friday.

In other action, the Fairfield Indians fell, 6-5.
