Little League TOC: Tri-Valley Giants and Indians, Suisun American Dodgers advance to semis

SUISUN CITY — Stevie Johnston ripped a three-run homer and the Cordelia/Tri-Valley Little League runner-up Giants advanced to the District 53 Tournament of Champions semifinals with a 9-4 win over the Fairfield Pacific runner-up Tigers at the Suisun American fields at the Lambrecht Sports Complex, Monday.

The Giants move on to play the Napa National champions on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., also in Suisun City.

The Giants trailed 4-2 heading into the fourth inning when Cyere Randle led off with a solo home run to left. Jarod Sloan then walked and Ben Trette singled before Johnston put his team ahead to stay with his three-run blast to deep center field.

Trettle finished with two hits and scored three runs, while Angad Takhar and Miguel DeLeon also had two hits.

Johnston earned the victory, with Max Wilson picking up the save.

For the Tigers, Brady Fondersmith had an RBI single, while Rick Duff and Justin Duff each had two hits each.

In Monday’s Minor Division action, the Tri-Valley champion Indians blanked Middletown/Cobb 8-0, while the Suisun American Dodgers outlasted Vallejo 4-2. The Dodgers host the Indians in the semifinals on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
