JC baseball: Solano falls to SJ Delta, 6-5

STOCKTON — The Solano Community College got three RBIs from shortstop Alvaro Rubalcaba and San Joaquin Delta made five errors, but it wasn’t enough as the Falcons dropped a 6-5 non-conference decision, Saturday.

Rubalcaba had a sacrifice fly in the second inning and a two-run single in the sixth. Dareion Evans also drove in a run in the sixth, while Ian Acosta scored on a wild pitch in the ninth, bringing Solano (1-6) to within one run.

Starter James Harris took the loss, going the first 2 1-3 innings while giving up four runs on five hits with one walk.

Three relievers surrendered six hits and two runs over the final 5 2-3 innings.

Evans had two hits to lead the Solano attack.

The Falcons host Santa Rosa, Thursday.
