DAVIS — There are now two new school records for the Armijo High track record book, as the Indians were at the Woody Wilson Invitational at UC Davis, Saturday.

Gabriella Nathan Funk bested her own record in the girls 1600-meter run with a 5 minutes 12.51seconds  finsh as she grabbed fourth place overall.

According to Armijo coach David Monk, coming into the school year the record in the 1600 was 5:30, but Nathan Funk obliterated that a month ago as she ran a 5:14.

The other broken record was in the girls 4×4 as Colbi Quist-Richard, Nathan Funk, Soso Amatoru and Tyra Holt ran a 4:02.50, winning first place in the event. The previous record was 4:04 set in 1996.

Nathan Funk now holds records in the 800, mile, two mile and 4×4 for the Indians.

Tyra Holt won her heat in the 400 with a 59.16 finish, which was .02 seconds from the school record. She finished third overall in the open section.

Armijo’s will host Rodriguez, Napa and Vintage in a quad meet, Wednesday.
