FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Indians banged out 15 hits, but their pitchers were just as generous in allowing 14 in a 10-6 Sacramento Rural League loss to the Novato Knicks at Allan Witt Park, Wednesday.

The visitors never trailed as they scored two runs in the first inning, three in the third and four in the fifth to take control.

For the Indians (10-16, 8-5 SRL), Bryce Hutchings, Andrew Wheat, Rupert Watson, Mark Mills, Chris McCollister and Damian Marshall each had two hits, with Wheat driving in three runs and Marshall one, while Mills doubled.

The same two teams meet in a doubleheader on Saturday at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park at 11 a.m.
