Hey spring sports teams, we want to hear from you

By From page B7 | April 11, 2014

A sure sign that spring has sprung is that baseball and softball games have broken out all over the place.

And we want to hear from the teams that won – and from that lost as well.

This means you, Fairfield-Suisun Bobby Sox, North Bay PONY and Little League – Cordelia/Tri-Valley, Fairfield Atlantic, Fairfield Pacific and Suisun American – as well as area travel ball teams.

It’s not rocket science or even brain surgery. Just have a coach or team representative send the results to Daily Republic sports editor Paul Farmer at [email protected]

What’s a result, you ask? A result is a final score as well as some details about the game: who got hits, who pitched well, who made big defensive plays. You get the idea.

They can even be from games that were played at the start of the season. As they say, “It all looks the same in the scrapbook 20 years from now,” but it can’t get into the scrapbook if it doesn’t get sent in.

All we ask is that with each submission, please include, the name of the organization (Fairfield Atlantic, for example), division or age level (such as Mustang, 10-U or maybe Major), final score (perhaps Tourists 12, RiverCats 9) and which team is submitting the results.

The results will run each Sunday in “Hometown Report” and the deadline for submissions is Thursday night. But don’t worry: those received after the deadline will run the following Sunday. Again, it all looks the same in the scrapbook.

So there you have it. I expect my inbox to be flooded with results. Please don’t disappoint me. You won’t like me when I’m disappointed.
