Haney’s no-hitter lifts Expos to win over Bandits

CORVALLIS, Ore. — The Fairfield Expos’ Rylan Haney fired a no-hitter in a five inning 13-0 rout of the Seattle Bandits, Friday, to open the Oregon State Showcase Tournament.

Haney struck out six with his only blemishes a walk and a hit batter.

The Expos had eight hits, with Jo Jo Quintanilla leading the attack by going 2 for 3 and scoring three runs. Jake Hedrick, Cameron Michael, Carter Bins, Matthew Lanza, Anthony Kaleczyc and Jason Brasile each had one hit.

Bins led the way in RBI’s with three, while Kaleczyc had the only extra-base hit in the game, a double. Brasile and Kaleczyc were each 1 for 3 with two RBIs, while Michael was 1 for 1 with 2 RBIs. Lanza, Garlind Webster and Jack Gamba each had one RBI.

In Saturday’s play, the Expos take on Portland at 8:30 a.m. before meeting host Corvallis at 6:30 p.m.
