Giants score late go-ahead run

SUISUN CITY — The Cordelia Tri-Valley Majors-Giants defeated the Fairfield Atlantic Majors-Angels 2-1 at Suisun Little League Fields on Saturday.

Damon Magallanes drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth, bringing in Miguel DeLeon who earlier walked and stole second base to get into scoring position.

The Giants took the early lead as Stevie Johnston doubled and scored on a Max Wilson single in the top of the first inning. The Angels tied in the bottom of the fourth as Ryan Richard singled, reached second on a passed ball and eventually scoring from third on a throwing error.

Entering in the fourth inning, Johnston earned the win in relief for the Giants by striking out two in 1 1/3 innings. Max Wilson earned the save as he struck out two in one inning of work. Angad Takhar was the starter, striking out 11 in 3 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks.

Richard was the losing pitcher for the Angels, but pitched well, striking out six batters in four innings. He scattered four hits, allowed two walks and one run.

The Giants play the Fairfield-Pacific runner-up, Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Suisun City Little League Fields.
