FAIRFIELD — Two years after winning the Fairfield Junior golf championship, Aaron Beverly added the Fairfield City Amateur title, Sunday.
The 2012 Armijo High graduate and current Sacramento State University player followed the 71 he shot at Paradise Valley Golf Course on Saturday with a 70 at Rancho Solano Golf Course on Sunday to finish at 141, three shots better than Amol Mahol of Youth on Course San Francisco.
First-round leader Hunter Rappleye of Valley Hi Country Club ballooned to a 78 on Sunday after opening with a 69. He finished in a tie for fourth at 147.
Behind Beverly, the top city finisher was Brendan O’Connell of Paradise Valley, who tied for 16th at 154.
Steve Hendrick of Hiddenbrooke Golf Course repeated as Seniors Division champion, rebounding from a first-round 77 to fire a second-round 70 and finish at 147, four shots better than Wade Nonnenberg of Whitney Oaks Golf Club.
The top city senior finisher was Somboon Kitapan of Paradise Valley, who tied for sixth at 154.
