FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield-Suisun Bass Reapers will hold its 33rd annual fishing tournament at Lake Berryessa’s Pleasure Cove, Saturday.

Fishing for black bass starts at 6 a.m. with weigh-ins at approximately 3 p.m.

“We’re going to have probably in the neighborhood of about 95 boats, maybe 100,” said Bill Arrington, public relations director for the Reapers.”

The tournament is essentially full, according to Arrington, though he invites the public to attend.

“There will be a lot of people there,” he said. “There will be some big fish up there at the weight-in, this time of year, especially.”

Proceeds from the event benefit future fishing in the lake.

“All the money goes toward the actual lake, every penny goes back to the lake,” Arrington said, to buy bass to restock the late and Christmas trees that don’t sell to create habitats for the fish.
