Fairfield Expos split DH with San Jose Giants

FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Expos American Legion baseball team split a doubleheader with the San Jose Giants at Laurel Creek Park, Sunday.

The Expos won the first game – their ninth straight – 4-1 behind the strong pitching of Rylan Haney. Haney gave up just four hits and one run in six innings of work while striking out four.

Anthony Kaleczyc had two hits for the Expos (14-4-1) with an RBI. Garlind Webster and Jack Gamba also drove in runs for Fairfield.

The Expos’ winning streak came to an end with a 5-1 defeat in the second game.

Fairfield only managed two hits in the contest, one each by Carter Bins and Matthew Sherman. Bins drove in the only run.
