Fairfield Expos rally, then fall to Lodi Legion

LODI — The Fairfield Expos American Legion baseball team rallied from a six-run deficit but couldn’t maintain the momentum in falling 7-6 to Lodi at Tony Zupo Field, Wednesday.

Lodi opened a 3-0 lead in the first inning, then upped its lead to 6-0 after four innings before the Expos came back.

Fairfield scored four times in the top of the sixth before Lodi scored the go-ahead run in the bottom half of the sixth.

Garlind Webster, Carter Bins and Matthew Lanza each had two hits for the Expos, who had 11 hits total. Lanza and Jack Gamba each had two RBIs. Lodi pounded out 10 hits.

Justin Lee took the loss for the Expos despite allowing just one run in three innings. He struck out one.

Fairfield hosts Lodi at 6:30 p.m., Thursday.
