Fairfield Expos get 3-1 win over Santa Clara in Reno tournament

RENO — The Fairfield Expos American Legion baseball team picked up a 3-1 win over the Santa Clara Red Sox on the final day of the Reno Tournament, Sunday.

The Expos scored one team in each of the second, third and fourth innings, while Santa Clara just once in the fifth inning.

Anthony Kaleczyc was the only Fairfield player with two hits, finishing 2 for 3, while Jake Hedrick was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Jack Gamba was 1 for 3 with an RBI, while Jo Jo Quintanilla and Garlind Webster had the teams only other hits.

David Hostler got the win on the mound for Fairfield, scattering five hits over 6 2-3 innings of work, striking out six. Payton Tyler got the final out on a strikeout in the seventh inning.

The Expos are back in action on Tuesday when they host the Petaluma Leghorns at Laurel Creek Park at 5 p.m.
