Expos fall 4-2, drop to 0-3 on Oregon Trip

SALEM, Ore. — The Fairfield Expos American Legion baseball team allowed four early runs and couldn’t come back, falling 4-2 to the Canyon Crushers in a tournament at Willamette University, Thursday.

Though the Expos outhit the Crushers 11-10, they left 13 on base compared to six for the Crushers in falling to 0-3 on their trip to Oregon.

Garlind Webster led the Expos with three hits, while Cameron Michael, Matthew Lanza and Anthony Kaleczyc had two. Michael and Webster each drove in a run – JP San Antonio and Jake Hedrick, each of whom had a hit.

Jake Brandt went the first three innings, allowing four hits and two runs with two strikeouts, while David Hostler scattered six hits, allowing two runs with five strikeouts.

The Expos continue the tournament against the Vancouver (Wash.) Showtime on Friday at 9 a.m.
