FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Expos avenged Saturday’s 8-1 loss to the Petaluma Leghorns when Carter Bins singled to right with two outs and the bases loaded to score Matthew Lanza in the bottom of the 10th inning  for a 5-4 win at Laurel Creek Park, Sunday.

Trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth on Sunday, the Expos got a two-run single from Garlind Webster and an RBI single by Bins to make it 4-3.

Webster then singled in J.P. San Antonio in the sixth to tie the score. Bins went 3 for 6, Webster 2 for 4 and Jake Hedrick 3 for 3.

Troy Nixon pitched four scoreless innings of one-hit ball to get the win.

In Saturday’s game, the Expos trailed 6-0 after 1½ innings and never recovered.

They managed just four hits, half of them by Jack Gamba, who went 2 for 3 and drove in their only run.

The Expos head to Reno for the Josh Anderson Memorial Tournament, opening against the Boisen Gems on Tuesday.
