Fairfield Indians split doubleheader with Next Level

FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Indians collegiate baseball team split a doubleheader with the Next Level Athletics, Sunday.

The Athletics won the first game 10-7 after scoring 10 runs in the fourth inning, while the Indians won the second game 12-0.

Andrew Wheat and Tyler Hall each had two hits in the opener, with Hall and Damian Marshall (double) each driving in two runs. Jason Paukei and Ian Acosta also had hits for Fairfield.

Ben Monroe got the win in the second game, scattering three hits and striking out five in four innings of work.

Timmion Huges has three hits, including two doubles, for Fairfield, while Rupert Watson, Wheat, Mike Brown and Joey Moro each had two hits.

Watson’s two hits were doubles, while Huges had four RBIs, Moro and Brown with RBIs each.
