Dumapay outduels former teammate in Solano baseball win

ROCKVILLE — Dylan Dumapay outpitched former Rodriguez High teammate Jesse Scholtens and the Solano Community College baseball team earned its first win of the season by downing Diablo Valley 10-6 at Billy and Louise Yarbrough Stadium, Saturday.

Dumapay went the first five innings to get the win, allowing three runs, two of which were earned, and six hits while striking out two.

Scholtens went 3 2-3 innings, giving up seven runs, five earned, and seven hits with three strikeouts.

Nick Perez, another former Mustang, led the attack for Solano (1-2), going 5 for 5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Other top hitters were David Perez (2 for 5), Evan Vaccenda (2 for 4) and Ian Acosta (2 for 4, double). Trever Faulkner and Robert Contreras each drove in two runs.

The Falcons next play at San Mateo, Thursday.
