VALLEO — Alec Merodio and Roberto Hernandez each ripped run-scoring triples as the Fairfield Pacific 10- and 11-year-old All-Stars scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning for a 10-5 winner’s bracket victory over host East Vallejo in the District 53 tournament, Saturday.
After Pacific rallied from a 5-0 deficit to tie it, Ryan Minkin led off the top of the sixth with a single and was sacrificed to second by Alex Carver. Jason Booker then singled in Minkin and Collin Medeiros followed with a single before both were tripled in by Merodio.
Hernandez scored Merodio with his own triple and Logan Hadrava capped the scoring with an RBI single.

Hadrava went the first five innings to get the victory, limiting East Vallejo to four hits. Medeiros pitched a scoreless bottom of the sixth.
