Buckingham boys keep rolling, rout Sac Country Day

VACAVILLE — Things keep rolling for the Buckingham Charter boys basketball team.

On Friday night, the Knights (15-4, 5-1 SMAL SMAL) trounced shorthanded Sacramento Country Day 75-14 to maintain a firm grasp on first place in the Sacramento Metro Athletic League.

Buckingham coach Dan Curry said all of his players got onto the scoresheet, led by Noah Schmidt with 14 points.

Josh Niccum added 13.

The Knights have a busy week ahead with three games. It starts Tuesday at Lutheran of Sacramento.

Knights lose close one to Cavaliers

VACAVILLE — The Buckingham Charter girls basketball team came close to a big upset Friday night, falling to Sacramento Country Day 25-21 at home.

The Knights battled to the end against the Cavaliers, who are in second place in the Sacramento Metro Athletic League.

Jazmine Gonzalez led Buckingham with 11 points.

Coach Tessa Threets also credited Michelle Brooks and Selena Arana with good effort and defense.

Tuesday at Lutheran of Sac 6:30 p.m.
