ANTIOCH — Debrady Ford ripped a grand slam and the Northern Solano Babe Ruth 14-year-old All-Stars completed an unbeaten run through the District 3 tournament by winning the championship with a 17-7 win over Vallejo, Monday.

The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

On the mound, Sklar went the first three innings with four strikeouts to get the victory and Alex Nelson threw the last two innings, striking out three.

Northern Solano opened the tournament with 8-6 and 11-8 wins over Vallejo and Antioch, respectively, on Saturday. It advances to the state tournament in Woodland, opening against the host team on July 12 at Clark Field at 7 p.m.

The Northern Solano 13-year-old All-Stars stayed alive with a 9-7 victory over Antioch on Monday at Allan Witt Park. It opened with a 26-6 loss to Vallejo A on Friday before rebounding for a 19-10 win over Vallejo B on Sunday.
