Astros shutout American Canyon

NAPA — The Tri-Valley LL Majors Astros only needed four innings to shut down the American Canyon Padres in a 10-0 rout Saturday.

The Astros scored eight runs in the first three innings.

Jackson Troutt and Joshua Holden had RBI singles in the first inning, while Diego Moreno had a RBI triple and Andrew Ammerman a solo home run. Tyler Creekmore hit a two-run homer in the second and Nathan Garza hit a solo shot in the fourth. Dawsyn Schnyder later singled in Creekmore for the 10th run.

Troutt was on the mound for the shutout, allowing only one hit with eight strikeouts.

The Astros play Sunday at 12:30 p.m. against the Fairfield Pacific Giants in Napa.
